Located in a 18th century monument in the town of Schinnen, Netherlands, Nautical Games is a newly formed game development studio. We develop for Windows and Linux and are currently working on our first project: a story-driven RPG (role-playing game) set for release in 2018. We started out like many others: two students with an idea. For almost a year, we used a small nautical themed bedroom as our workspace. Fall 2016, we moved to an office in the city of Heerlen, and decided to call our company Nautical Games.
We create lush worlds that people can explore and interact with in their own way, at their own pace. The two key elements that make these worlds come alive are strong narrative and the freedom of choice the players have.
We want to bring poular subjects like pollution and immigration under attention through narrative, from a neutral point of view, so people can form their own informed opinion on these matters while having fun.
Developer & co-founder
I love different kinds of games, but mostly games with strong storytelling. My all-time favorites are Dungeon Siege, Fallout, Grim Dawn and Divinity. When I am not playing or making games, I enjoy reading or hiking.
Graphic designer & co-founder
From obscure Japanese titles to popular shooters, I play all kinds of games. You name it, I play it. To me, some games are works of art, and I love art. I have been drawing and sketching since I was little, and now I have finally found a way to make use of those skills.
